Professional wrestling career

Early career

Like most professional wrestlers in the Southern California area, Ray started as a backyard wrestler. At the age of 22, Ray Rosas began his professional wrestling training on December 28, 2008 at the Santino Bros. Wrestling Academy run by former Xtreme Pro Wrestling and Wrestling Society X superstar “The Rock Superstar” kAos.

2009

He made his professional debut on June 14, 2009 for a Lucha Libre company called Mexican Wrestling Federation.

Later that year, he wrestled on the XPW X: Tenth Anniversary Show. Teaming with Joey “Rico” Dynamite and Oso Loco defeating Lucha Machine, “Playboy” Clay Motley and “The Rookie” 88 in the opening match.

2010

Ray debuted in Empire Wrestling Federation on January 9, losing to Orion. He would later find success by winning the EWF Cruiserweight Championship from Brandon Parker on June 13. Ray would then go onto feud with former champion, Jeremy Jaeger. With help from other members of the A List, Jeremy literally stole the Cruiserweight Championship belt from Ray Rosas. The feud culminated in TLC Match voted by the fans, with Ray retaining and gaining back his Cruiserweight Championship. This match would also go on to be voted Match of the year by the EWF fans.

Ray also joined forces with the Oso Loco to form a tag team called the Silver Heart Radicalz. Later in the year, together they started their own web series called The Silver Heart Radicalz: Tequila Cantina. They also competed in their first tag team championship match in a losing effort for Battleground Pro Wrestling. They also perform regularly at Legion Championship Wrestling.

He also participated in the World Record breaking 3 Ring Battle Royal presented by the Alternative Wrestling Show.

Later that year, Ray debuted on NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood on KDOC-TV losing to his head trainer from Santino Bros. Wrestling Academy, “The Rock Superstar” kAos. Ray would have similar results against Babi Slymm. Ray's losing streak would continue after a lose in a very close and competitive match against fellow Santino Bros. student, Famous B. After the match, Ray hit Famous B with a low blow following a hand shake.

2011

Ray would make his Mach 1 Wrestling debut on New Year's Day, to compete as a last minute replacement for Candice LeRae in the junior heavyweight New Year's Cup tournament. However, Ray would lose in the first round to Joey Ryan.

On N.W.A Hollywood, Ray would conitnue to low blow his opponents and sometimes his own team mates after matches. Victims included the Manimal and Lucha Machine. Ray would also attempt to low blow Ryan Taylor after a match, but Taylor had Rosas scouted and countered with roundhouse kick to back of the Ray's head.

The following week, Ray attacked Ryan Tayor by sneaking through the audience. Taylor was saved before Rosas could do any serious damage by Famous B and the debuting Bolo. Bolo would go on to defeat Ray the next week. After the match, Rosas then tried to lure Bolo into his trademark groin kick but it merely served as a distraction. Suddenly, "Pretty" Peter Avalon and Rico Dynamite with his manager Sylvia rush to the ring and attack Bolo only to be chased off by Ryan Taylor and Famous B.

The two factions would all trade singles victories until the team of Rosas, Avalon and Dynamite would defeat Famous B, Taylor and Bolo in a six man tag team match using underhanded tactics. Famous B and Bolo got a small measure of revenge by defeating Ray and Rico Dynamite in a Tag team match.

A few weeks later, Ray faced Ryan Taylor again in a singles match with Taylor squeezing a victory over Rosas. Peter Avalon and Rico Dynamite attacked Taylor as he celebrated. The trio then cut locks of hair off the unconscious Ryan Taylor. The feud culminated in hair vs. hair six man elimination tag team match with Taylor's team winning the match.

After breaking out on his own in NWA Hollywood, Ray would challenge Scorpio Sky for the NWA International Televsion Championship in a losing effort.

In Legion Championship Wrestling, Ray Rosas and The Lucha Machine feuded with hated rivals, Order 66 members Robbie Phoenix and Damien Arsenik along with their manager Roscoe P. Tucker. The seven month feud culminated in a tag team ladder match for the contract of the manager of Order 66, Roscoe P. Tucker. In this match, Ray suffered a dislocated shoulder.

Ray Rosas would also debut for the National Wrestling Alliance's Pro Wrestling Revolution (PWR) promotion. He would wrestle long-time rival Famous B and then PWR Junior Heavyweight Champion, Mr. Wrestling IV. Though Ray lost to the defending champion, his performance earned his official spot on the PWR roster.

Ray also debuted for the Insane Wrestling League feuding with Chris Kadillak. After two matches, Ray failed to defeat Kadillak. At New Era 6, they faced each other again in a Tables Match, with the winner receiving a title shot of the choosing. The match ended in a draw after both men crashed through both tables at the same time.

Then owner of IWL, Eric Cross forced them to team up and take on the IWL Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks. However, Ray and Kadillak were unable to coexist as a team and failed to win the championships.

After Vic Luna regained control of the company, He granted both Ray and Kadillak one more title shot of their choosing. They both ended up choosing the IWL Heavyweight Championship which resulted in a triple threat match with champion, Paul London. Paul would go on to successfully defend the title by pinning Ray.

In Battleground Pro Wrestling, Ray would make it the finals of the BPW Ring Warrior Championship tournament. He would lose the match after his partner, Lucha Machine made Seville Alvarez submit. Ray would show signs of jealousy and tried to prove he was better than Lucha Machine.

It looked as if the Ring Warrior Championship would tear the two friends apart when Ray would defeat Chris Kadillak and Lucha Machine for the title by pinning Kadillak. After the match, Lucha Machine would leave the ring visibly upset. The two would reconcile after Ray successfully retained against Lucha Machine.

The following month, Ray would lose the Ring Warrior Championship to B-Boy in a triple threat with Scorpio Sky. After the match, all three men shook hands out of respect and left the ring together. With their focus back on the tag division, The Silver Heart Radicalz reunited and finally captured the BPW Tag Team Championship. The following night, The Silver Heart Radicalz won the New Wave Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championship.

Ray Rosas made his biggest debut of the year at Steen Wolf for Pro Wrestling Guerilla. He teamed with "Pretty" Peter Avalon and Freddy Bravo to take on Candice LaRae and two of his biggest rivals, Chris Kadillak and Famous B.
